Croham Services for Children - quality fostering and residential care

Parenting Information Programme (PIP)

In late 2008 SfC gained approval from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to provide parenting programmes in situations where the court concludes that separating parents need to be alerted to the impact on their children of conflict and the benefits to all parties of negotiating agreed levels and types of contact.

Courts are only slowly beginning to use these new powers.

SfC has so far run four successful courses and expects to be helping more families using Section 8 Children & Young Person Act 2008 provisions in the next few months (www.cafcass.gov.uk offers more details).
